CSUN Hillel's philosophy of programming is grounded in the recognition that each student will have his or her own unique entry point into Jewish life. As such, Jewish life at CSUN is made up of many diverse opportunities for learning and engagement, and Hillel's programs are designed by student leaders and staff based on student need and interest. Whether it's a welcome week Luau BBQ, a Friday night Shabbat dinner, a career skills seminar, a first-time visit to Israel, or a trip with students of other faiths to New Orleans to rebuild destroyed neighborhoods, there is something for everyone at CSUN Hillel. Our program encompasses the range of Jewish thought, addressing the needs of students who are secular, religious, and cultural Jews, as well as those who identify as "just Jewish."
In addition to serving the campus of CSUN, we also serve the Community College campuses of Los Angeles Valley College and Los Angeles Pierce College. We are a three campus Hillel under the name of Hillel 818.
