Explore College of Charleston Hillel

Jewish student life in Charleston, SC. begins here! We are the home for Jewish students at the College of Charleston and around the Charleston area. Encouraging exploration of students’ Jewish identity, creating a vibrant Jewish community, and inspiring the next generation of Jewish leaders is at the heart and soul of what we do.

There are tons of ways to get involved in our Jewish community. Serving over 500 Jewish students from Charleston, Hillel is where Jewish students meet new friends, explore their interests, grab a cup of coffee, celebrate Jewish holidays, and kick back and take a break between classes.

Jewish Life at CofC is much more than just meals and programs. We have student-led clubs including a Holocaust Education Awareness and Remembrance (HEAR) group, K'far Keshet (Kiki), First Year Students of Hillel (FYSH, Students Supporting Israel (SSI), and a Jewish Fraternity (Zeta Beta Tau) on campus.

Charleston Hillel offers a vibrant and enriching Jewish student experience, fostering a close-knit community that celebrates diversity and embraces Jewish traditions. Join us for our weekly Friday Night services, where students come together to engage in meaningful prayer and reflection. Following the services, experience the warmth of our Shabbat Dinners, held in our dedicated kosher dining hall, providing a welcoming environment for all. Our commitment to a kosher dining experience extends beyond Shabbat dinners, as our dining hall consistently maintains kosher standards. At Charleston Hillel, we strive to create a space where students can connect, celebrate, and share the richness of Jewish culture, enhancing their college journey with a sense of community and tradition.
