Hillel at ASU is a thriving and vibrant community. We offer a variety of programs, internships and awards. We have an in-house kosher kitchen that serves delicious food on Friday nights, for Jewish holidays and all of our weekly events. Jewish students love hanging out at Hillel at ASU. We offer two Taglit-Birthright Israel trips every year, community service projects, and weekly social events. Our Israel Center is dedicated to on-going Israel education, fellowships, and travel opportunities. We offer at least three, free classes every week on topics ranging from Jewish life and learning to modern culture and Hebrew language. Our staff set us apart! Jewish Experience

Hillel at ASU offers warm and welcoming holiday and Shabbat celebrations and meals. We also offer creative ways to mark holiday moments, such as events throughout campus (think residence halls, student union, picnics). You might see staff delivering sufaniyot (donuts @ Chanukah) directly to you or leading a group on a Shabbat hike. Our classes span the topics from 'Life's Big Questions' to 'Launching into Leadership' and are beloved by current students.

Kosher Dining

In addition to providing free, Kosher meals at all ASU Hillel events, beginning in the fall of 2018 ASU launched its first on-campus kosher dining option which is included in the university meal plan. There is also one private kosher-meat restaurant on Tempe's campus called Chick-In. There are also kosher packaged foods available in some of the campus markets.

Religious Services

Shabbat at ASU Hillel is the place to be every Friday night. Enjoy a free, delicious, kosher meal. Meet new people and catch up with friends. We feature a camp-style service with musical instruments and a traditional service with a mixed minyan from 6-9pm.

Seymour H. Jacobs Memorial Scholarship

A minimum award of $500 to support travel or research, awarded to seniors and graduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, pursuing a concentration in Jewish Studies within the School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies. Half of the total award will be made in each of two semesters.

Benjamin Goldberg Memorial Scholarship

The Benjamin Goldberg Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher enrolled in the Jewish Studies certificate program. Applicants must have a FAFSA form on file with Arizona State University Financial Assistance office. One half of annual amount will be awarded each semester.

Morris and Julia Kertzer Scholar

This scholarship awards upper division and graduate students engaged in studies about Jews or Judaism, providing a stipend to pursue a research project under the direction of an ASU faculty advisor. The award recipient is allowed up to one year to complete the project. Candidates must be enrolled at Arizona State University.
