Like the greater Wesleyan community, the Jewish Community at Wesleyan is a multi-denominational group of students with a wide variety of backgrounds. This diversity is reflected in the range of religious, educational, cultural, political, and social activities offered by the Wesleyan Jewish Community’s (WJC) student leadership board, the various Jewish student organizations on campus, and by Rabbi David, the Jewish chaplain. From weekly Shabbat services, Havdalah, Holiday services and festive meals,  there are many ways to be involved in Jewish life on campus and so many Jewish organizations with no pressure to conform to any one style of Jewish expression.The Wesleyan Jewish Community is a welcoming and multi-denominational community which takes into account the input and creativity of the whole community. Additional Information on Religious Services: Every Friday evening, a Shabbat program is held at the Bayit, filled with student-led prayer, discussion, song, dinner, and socializing. Services begin at 5 p.m. and vary in style from week to week. Services are always followed by a homemade, kosher (by ingredient) dinner (around 6:30), which often ends with lively singing. In addition to Friday night services, the Wesleyan Jewish community hosts Shabbat-friendly afternoon activities on Saturday afternoon and a havdalah service in the evening.
