Explore Queens Hillel

Queens Hillel envisions a world where every Jewish student is inspired to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning and Israel. We seek to achieve this by creating meaningful Jewish experiences, embracing both the distinctively Jewish and universally human inherent in Judaism, organizing community service opportunities, connecting civic engagement with Jewish values, and promoting Jewish pluralism and constructive dialogue. Queens Hillel serves Jewish students from a myriad of Jewish backgrounds. Our students represent more diversity in religious traditions, ethnicities, levels of Jewish education and communal involvement, socioeconomic backgrounds, and academic profiles than any other campus in the United States. We serve “commuters (who come to campus and then go home) and “residents (who live in the dormitory or neighborhood apartments) alike. And perhaps most importantly, our students represent the future of the New York Jewish community, as the vast majority will likely stay close to home after graduation. Since our founding in 1947, our primary campus community has been Queens College, the 7th largest Jewish campus population in the nation. Today, we’re an award-winning Hillel, serving thousands of students across the borough of Queens. As the only pluralistic Jewish organization focused on college-aged young adults in the borough, Queens College Hillel recently became Queens Hillel - an organization holistically serving every Jewish student in the borough, ensuring all of their needs - hearts, minds and stomachs - are cared for.
