SUNY Plattsburgh Hillel welcomes Jewish students to join in its activities and celebrate during the regular academic year. Our Hillel members hold regular weekly meetings and run programs at the High Holy Days, Purim, Pesach and Yom HaShoah. Plattsburgh State Hillel's faculty adviser is Prof. Jonathan R. Slater, Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism and Public Relations and coordinator of the Judaic Studies minor. SUNY Plattsburgh Hillel is fortunate to have a warm and welcoming congregation within a short walking distance of campus. Temple Beth Israel holds regular Friday evening Shabbat services and services during holidays and festivals. Hillel students are invited to take part in all Temple observances and activities at absolutely no charge.
