Hillel UW inspires students and young adults to explore, embrace, and celebrate Jewish life and identity. Hillel UW has two unique areas of focus: our robust undergraduate program, as well as our award-winning Jconnect program that offers a variety of options for graduate students and young professionals. Both are designed to address the unique needs and interests of young Jews today. With a diverse offering of more than 25 programs a month, Hillel UW connects with over 1,500 unique students and young adults each year.

Kosher Dining
We have a Va'ad supervised kosher kitchen. All Shabbat and holidays meals are prepared under this supervision.
Religious Services
During the academic year, Hillel has weekly Friday night Shabbat dinners. On some three-day weekends, we offer "Shabbat to-go" packages, and students pick up challah, grape juice, candles and a Shabbat thought and have dinner together with their friends in their dorms, houses and apartments. The second Friday of every month is also a Jconnect (our program for graduate students and young adults in their 20's and 30's) Shabbat. The program is called re:connect - a musical Shabbat experience, and other weeks Jconnectors can avail themselves of other young adult Shabbat programming in the city with other synagogues and young adult groups or with OneTable.

Wellness, Inclusion, and Activism
Our Hillel employs a part-time counselor who is available to meet with students 1:1 in person at Hillel or via telehealth. She serves as a resource for our quarterly "Matzah Ball Soup for the Soul" programs and supports our staff and students for all of our unique Wellness programming. We also have a weekly Wellness Walk with our ED.
Dylan Hammerman and Rebecca Weiss are on their way home from a weekend of connection, learning, and celebrating with almost 200 fellow student leaders at Hillel International’s Global Student Assembly (GSA).
$1.8 million grant enables Hillel movement to embed skilled professionals across 32 campuses, providing critical services to students.
The Hillel College Guide aims to provide you with a snapshot of each local Hillel’s makeup and offerings. We recognize that there may be more information you need in order to better understand the campus reality, particularly around issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. If you would like additional information about a given campus’ offerings or action steps in those areas, please reach out to us at [email protected].
