Hillel International is excited to launch its application for Summer Internships 2022. Hillel is seeking exceptional college students for multiple internships to work with Hillel International’s employees across North America. Join us for an exciting summer of professional development, cohort building, and opportunities to build new professional skills. This internship will be a remote internship opportunity that will span 8 weeks; specific dates may vary depending on department. The Summer internship opportunities that are being offered are:

Who You Are:

Ideal candidates should have an interest in transforming their local campus communities upon completion of the internship. They must be committed to helping create a Jewish future that is relevant and compelling to them and their peers. Interns must possess an innovative, creative and problem-solving approach to their work.

In addition, interns should possess the following traits:

Compensation:

Interns will be paid $15 per hour* for up to 20 hours per week. *Please note that hourly wage is dependent on which state the intern will be working out of.

Campaign Services Interns

The Campaign Services interns will have the opportunity to work closely with the Campaign team and larger Advancement Pillar on a variety of projects. They will learn about and develop skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce’s Non-Profit Success Package. The Campaign Services interns will be responsible for regular constituent data and prospect research tasks.  Additionally, they will have the opportunity to assist with ad hoc projects such as special campaigns and specific pieces of Hillel International’s overall gift processing and donor stewardship operations.

Center for Jewish and Israel Education Dwell Intern

As a member of the Center for Jewish and Israel Education team, the Dwell Intern will have an exquisite attention to detail and an eye toward creating dynamic and exciting educational environments. This intern will be part of the team that creates Dwell 2022, Hillel’s premier educational experience for our Hillel professionals and will be working closely with professionals from all over the country.

Interested applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills, experience with program design and a familiarity with Priya Parker’s The Art of Gathering.

Communications Intern

The Communications Intern will join and serve as an integral part of the vibrant Marketing and Communications team. In their role, the Communications Intern will hold a number of responsibilities, including but not limited to writing, editing, and copyediting for original stories, blogs, email, and social media; developing communications and marketing strategies; content curation and management; and more. This position is perfect for any rising junior or senior, or recent graduate in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other applicable fields who is looking to express their creativity, expand their skill set, and develop their professional identity. We hope that, after serving in this role, you will feel prepared to take on any communications-related task thrown your way.

Ideal candidates should possess strong attention to detail, superior writing and editing skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize, fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, basic-to-advanced graphic design knowledge, plenty of creativity, and a willingness to learn and grow! Proficiency in Adobe Create Suite and HTML/web design skills are a bonus but not required. The ability to pun is also deeply valuable to this team, but again, not a requirement.

Conferences and Events Intern

The Conferences and Events Summer Intern will work with the Conferences and Events team to plan and execute Hillel International’s two major summer programs. This will include project management, logistics organization, communication with stakeholders, researching and working with vendors and all other aspects of event planning. The C&E Summer Intern will travel to both conferences (June 19-24) and (July 24-28). Travel, food and lodging for the conferences will be covered by Hillel International. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to both follow directions and take initiative and customer service focused.

Digital Fundraising Intern

As a member of Hillel International’s Marketing and Communications department, you will be responsible for assisting with marketing and digital fundraising efforts across a number of different platforms: email, website, and social media (paid and organic). You will be involved in creating designs and images for ads and emails, and writing copy for both stewardship (aimed at creating a connection with the donor) and solicitations (aimed at raising funds from donors).

Qualified applicants should possess excellent writing skills, have fluency using Canva and/or the Adobe Suite for graphic design work, have a creative eye, be highly organized, and open to learning about all aspects of digital fundraising.

Internship Dates:  June  through August– exact dates are flexible.

Digital Marketing Intern

As a member of Hillel International’s Marketing and Communications team, you will be responsible for assisting with marketing and advertising efforts across a number of different platforms to reach current Jewish college and high school students. Responsibilities related to this position include: writing, designing, and sending email marketing communications; analyzing social media and email performance; designing social media graphics; helping to develop advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram; creating content for the Hillel International website; assisting with Hillel Scholarship and first-year student marketing campaigns, and more!

Qualified applicants should be comfortable using email and social media marketing platforms, have graphic design experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, experience in video editing (a nice-to-have), and possess excellent writing skills. Top candidates should be very comfortable using Canva or other graphic design software, and have a strong understanding of marketing statistics such as open rates, click-thru rates and cost per click.

Internship Dates: The internship will be from June through August. The exact dates are flexible.

Engagement, Inclusion & Wellness Intern

The CEIW intern will support the work of the Hillel U Center for Engagement, Inclusion, & Wellness (CEIW) up to 20 hours a week during summer 2022. The CEIW team focuses on creating learning opportunities and resources for Hillel professionals to build and strengthen skills necessary to engage students in meaningful, authentic ways that are informed by students’ interests, passions, identities and needs; connect students to something greater than themselves; foster diverse, inclusive communities; and promote student and staff well-being and participation in Jewish life.

The person who takes on this internship will be involved in our many efforts to provide Hillel professionals with resources and learning experiences around student engagement and wellness in order to best serve the students they work with on campuses around the world. As such, our work takes many forms. One day you might be interviewing Hillel professionals about student wellbeing programs and editing an article about wellness trends across Hillel, the next you might be preparing resources about Gen Z and student engagement to train new Hillel professionals, and the next you might be reviewing evaluation data on participant experience in our mental health warning sign training. The projects will vary and excellent written communication skills are important. Experience writing for a school publication, blog or other non-academic format is a plus!

Responsibilities may include: Content editing, content management, and research and development support.

Graphic Design Intern

As a member of Hillel International’s in-house creative & design team, you will be responsible for both upholding and expressing Hillel’s newly refreshed brand guidelines (launching summer 2022), and assisting with various visual and graphic projects for the organization;

Work collaboratively across teams and verticals (ie, HR, Office of the CEO, Advancement, etc) to provide visual and graphic support; examples of projects may include: designing and creating collateral for use in print, digital, and social media; helping to develop and execute within creative guidelines for campaigns; working within/breaking free from predesigned templates, and more.

Qualified applicants should be comfortable using the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), as well as other visual design tools; thorough understanding of photography, typography, and print production; ability to strategically layout information to communicate a message and tell a cohesive story through design.

Top candidates should have relevant work examples showing knowledge of graphic design trends and usage of the Adobe Creative Suite.

Hillel U, Professional Development Intern

The Hillel U team is seeking an organized intern to assist in the execution of professional development opportunities for more than 1,200 Hillel professionals. Our goal is to create additional professional development resources on our internal website, Hillel Hub, in order to best support the learning and growth of our Hillel professionals. Interns’ responsibilities may include identifying professional development needs, compiling resources and research, writing documents and updating the Hub. Additional responsibilities may include writing and distributing communications to our new professionals, creating a calendar for the year of professional development opportunities, and providing support for our two in-person summer conferences. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about nonprofit management, professional development, and best practices for adult learning. This is a unique opportunity to have a lasting impact by creating content that will support Jewish professionals in their work with Hillel students.

Applicants should be detail-oriented, able to successfully track and prioritize multiple tasks, and be able to complete work independently. An ideal candidate will be a quick learner (and eager to learn new skills!) and never afraid to ask questions. Necessary skills include strong written skills, good interpersonal and customer service skills as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Israel Action Program Intern

The Israel Action Program is seeking an intern to assist with the daily operations of Hillel’s Israel engagement work. Providing creative and robust Israel engagement and education opportunities to students while simultaneously addressing anti-Israel activity, BDS campaign and antisemitic incidents on campus. Responsibilities related to this position include: creating and implementing programs for Hillel students to celebrate, advocate and educate around Israel, developing and sharing resources and training materials, and supporting communications and program management. This is a unique opportunity to work with Hillel’s IAP team and the scope of the work will be challenging, meaningful and fun!

Qualified applicants should either be currently enrolled in a college/university program or recent graduate, with an interest in Israel education and engagement, political science and strategic communications. Necessary skills include strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and fluency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Docs.

Israel Education Intern

The Center for Jewish and Israel Education seeks an Israel Education Intern who is passionate about learning, excited by nuanced Israel conversations, and inspired to understand how educational material is developed! The intern will play a critical role on two core projects: developing curricular offerings for campuses and assisting in the experience design for Masterclass: Israel, a flagship fellowship for Israel educators. Our curricular offerings are based on the belief that good Israel education should begin with authentic inquiry, explore multiple narratives, and invite personal reflection. As we build out these offerings, we are excited to welcome an intern to help us evaluate what curricula currently exist in the field, give our facilitators’ guides a “digital facelift,” and ensure that our materials include a diversity of voices across multiple axes of inclusion. Our Israel education fellowship trains campus educators in the Inquiry-Centered Model, a new pedagogy for Israel education. As we conclude the second cohort of the fellowship, the intern will help in designing an incredible user experience for our fellows, play the role of Tech DJ at the seminar, and be a critical thought partner in curating discussions that will support our professionals’ abilities to meaningfully engage their students with Israel.

Measurement Intern

The Measurement Team, a branch of the Campus Success Pillar, is seeking an intern to assist with the daily operations of work. Our goal is to help build a data-informed culture across the Hillel movement by collecting, analyzing and making meaning of local Hillel data, as well as supporting field professionals in pursuing strategic grants and facilitating the grants process. Interns’ responsibilities may include data entry, data analysis, presentation & report design, customer service support, assisting moving the grant process along, reading grant reports, working in our data management system(s), and other general administrative tasks. This is a unique opportunity to be involved with an exciting initiative that is fundamentally reshaping our movement and to have a lot of fun with the team that’s doing it! 

Qualified applicants should either be currently enrolled in a college/university program or recent graduate, and be willing to learn about data, database management, and grants. Necessary skills include strong attention to detail, good interpersonal and analytical skills as well as fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Social Media Intern

As a member of Hillel International’s Marketing and Communications team, you will be responsible for creating and curating content to be posted across our social media channels. As the social media intern, you’ll be expected to keep up with online trends and craft creative, unique content for Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Qualified applicants should possess excellent writing skills, be able to craft copy that is fun and engaging, and be able to adapt their writing style to any audience. Applicants should also have fluency in using Canva (plus if the candidate has knowledge of Adobe Suite) for graphic design work. You should consider yourself a creative person, highly organized, open to constructive feedback, and excited to learn more about what it takes to work in social media! Additionally, it is an added bonus if applicants have skills in photography and/or videography, experience working in social media scheduling tools like Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or Loomly, and a strong personal social media presence or portfolio items to share.

Video Editing and Management Intern

As a member of Hillel International’s in-house creative & design team, the Video Editing & Management Intern will help edit and assemble raw video material into on-brand, on-brief finished products ready for distribution and publishing, and assist in the creation of an up-to-date video archive using Hillel’s new Digital Asset Management system (DAM)

Working collaboratively with Hillel International’s Marketing & Communications team across verticals, as well as with key video partners (agencies and vendors) to create original video content for social media, internal communications channels, and fall campaigns, this role will will be especially important as Hillel International enters its Centennial year in November of 2023

Qualified applicants should possess both technical and creative abilities to be able to effectively communicate the vision that internal clients and team members have in mind.

Top candidates should have relevant work experience with creative software such as Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, or similar software, and a keen eye for creative digital design.
