Fred and Ellen Lewis Fellowship

One (1) or two (2) fellowships will be awarded each year to deserving scholars engaged in graduate level, post-doctoral, or independent study to conduct research in the JDC Archives facility in New York or Jerusalem. The amount granted will range from $2,000 to $5,000 per fellow.

Fritz Halbers Fellowship

The LBI offers a fellowship for students enrolled in a Ph.D. program at an accredited institution of higher education. The fellowships provide financial assistance to scholars whose research projects are connected with the culture and history of German-speaking Jewry. Applicants must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program.

The Fromer Fellowship was established in 1994 with a gift from Dr. Carl Fromer in memory of his mother Irene C. Fromer, and is to be given to a deserving graduate student in Jewish studies researching ancient Jewish history. The recipient is chosen from the applicants to the Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies fellowship program.

G. Wasserman Scholarship Fund

Geifman Prize in Holocaust Studies

The Geifman Prize in Holocaust Studies is an annual student competition with awards up to $500. A submission may take the form of an essay, research paper, poem, drama, film, artwork, musical composition, or other creative expression.This scholarship is only for Augustana students.

The Leo Baeck Institute offers this award to a scholar or professional in an early career stage, whose proposed work would deal with historical or cultural issues of the Jewish experience in German-speaking lands.
