“I got involved in Hillel during my freshman year, and through Hillel I signed up for a Pesach-themed Zoom event called ‘Let My People Flow,’ which was a yoga class led by Evan Joblin. I had been getting into yoga for about three months already, so I was really looking forward to the event. I ended up just sort of following Evan’s classes until he formalized his program into Yoga Otzma, which is now an established digital yoga group that I’m a part of. I have a really busy schedule and a really busy mind that accompanies that, so yoga has become a solution that allows me to take a necessary break to sweat out some stress, release tension in my body, and calm my mind. Yoga is a lot of self-reflection, and I feel the same way about being Jewish. Having self-awareness in how you treat the world are huge themes in both. That awareness has changed my life in ways that I did not know was possible.” — Leah Thomas, Emerson College ’22
